When you are small fish in a big pond sometimes it is hard to get your name out there in the business. But for the guys at Infamous Chopper in Leetsdale, PA, it was all about establishing an identity that people will talk about for many years to come.

Infamous Choppers, founded in 2004, is a new and unique company which is not all about the actual chopper. The chopper shop provides rare parts and accessories not made available by the everyday chopper shop.

The goal is to introduce and familiarize the surrounding communities of Pittsburgh, PA. with some of the hottest fashions and custom designed choppers available on the market today.

Owners John Duzicky, and his partner Kurt O'Neill have worked diligently in attempting to build originality in the business. It isn't about being able to do a build in less than a month or showing the people variety, but it's about taking the time with the customer and taking what they want and putting the Infamous stamp on a build.

"You want to be a able to show a customer that walks into your shop you have the ability to build bikes that will be able to turn some heads on the highway," Duzicky said. "If you can do that then you know you have done your job." In regards to the actual bike, Infamous Choppers designs and builds custom choppers. Their fabrication will entail some of the most precise detail and precision in the chopper market.

They are currently working on a few specialty items that will, (when finished) let the custom bike scene know what they are all about. One key selling point over the last two years for Infamous Choppers is the artwork on their bikes. Infamous Choppers presents some of the craziest and sickest custom paint jobs courtesy of Atomik 1 Kustom Painting in Pittsburgh, PA. So sometimes even when you just start out in something it's definitely nice to know that your colleagues in the business are taking notice in the job you do. That's exactly what is happening at Infamous. Guys like Billy Lane and the folks over at Detroit Builders are taking notice, and have been impressed by the work of Infamous Choppers.

That makes Duzicky proud knowing some of the biggest names in bike customization loves his work.

"You know two years ago we took a chance and opened this shop not really knowing what was going to happen," Duzicky said. "Once we got some builds under our belts things basically fell into place from there. It's funny how things work out I guess."

Infamous Choppers loves the idea of being able to work with customer closely to build the perfect bike. Meanwhile there are companies out there that throw things together, and hope the customer likes it.

Not at Infamous.

"The one thing about this business that is kind of sad is that you see people with money, who attempt to start a shop, but they don't have a clue," Duzicky said. "That's just frustrating to me."

The Bikes

Duzicky, who has been in the construction business in the Pittsburgh area for the last eight years, said his ultimate goal would be to keep his construction business, while turning his focus to Infamous Chopper full time. However, he and O'Neil have put together a five-man team that have done some impressive builds over the last two years.

Meanwhile, adding their own flare and style to an already competitive market, but Infamous Choppers have managed to stay unique in the process.

One thing that Infamous is doing with their bikes is changing up the tire combination and adding colored tires to the mix. It has been a concept that has really worked for Duzicky. The tires are 17-inch tires with one off wheels adapted with a Harley Davidson bolt pattern. Then they also use rims, calipers, and rotors also from a Harley.

Of the 14 bikes that Infamous Choppers has built over the last two years, five of them have had the color tire combination. But the build that really has impressed Duzicky over the last two years was the one that his team built in less than a month, while trying to get ready for bike week in Daytona in 2005. In less than 30 days the guys at Infamous Choppers built a custom build bike that showcased Vtwins, a Killer's chopper chassis, while twisting the metal to give the frame a very unique look. It was a totally different look for Infamous, but they made it work.

"I was just so amazed that we got the project done in 30 days," Duzicky said. "They guys poured their heart and soul into the build and they got it done."
